The 63rd Street Holiday Celebration Month Organized by the 63rd St. Growth Commission to support 63rd St. Businesses A Special Anniversary
For the past twenty-nine years, the 63rd Street Growth Commission has sponsored the 63rd Street Parade to celebrate the Holiday Season. This year, we are celebrating our 30th Holiday Season Anniversary! Between Monday, November 23 and Saturday, December 19 a series of daily music events and street performances will add a special holiday flavor to our 63rd street business district. This year, the 63rd Street Growth Commission sponsors a FULL MONTH series of daily events instead of the 63rd Street Holiday Parade to honor our 30th Holiday Season Anniversary and stimulate the local business activity. We hope that you spread the word about these events and encourage your family and friends to visit our district. We are looking to make this year’s Holiday Season the biggest and best ever-and with your involvement, you can help make it happen. If you would like any additional information on the 63rd Street Holiday Celebration Month, please contact Nick Kollias at 773-436-1000 x. 113, n.kollias@greatersouthwest.org, or stop by the office at 2601 W. 63rd Street.
Poster Contest Traditionally, elementary school children can show off their artist talents and help promote the holiday celebration by entering the poster contest. Each Southwest Side elementary school selects their favorite poster from among their students' designs, and a panel of judges will choose the overall winner. The winning poster is used to advertise the celebration at businesses along 63rd Street, in Chicago newspapers and more. Contact Nick Kollias if you want to donate time or materials. |
