Help a high school student explore potential career paths by participating in the 2012 CPS Job Shadow Day (Wed. March 14) and/or 2012 CPS Spring Break Internships (Mon. April 2 - Fri. April 6).
To sign up, please complete the following information here: http://www.chooseyourfuture.org/cte/employer/host-application?pdl=jhdace
Deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 17 2012.
Job Shadow is a one-day opportunity for students to shadow professionals and gain insight in the world of work (approx 4 hours during the day). Spring break internships are one-week opportunities for students to engage in work (1 week, 8 hours a day, paid for by CPS). These career events are a wonderful opportunity for students to see how the skills they are learning in school relate to competency and success in the workplace. The purpose of the Streets for Cycling Plan 2020 is to identify up to 250 miles of innovative bicycle facilities that will encourage all Chicagoans to use their bikes to get around their neighborhoods.
As you are aware, Chicago is a large city with different challenges and opportunities in every neighborhood. In order to address these issues, we have divided the city into nine areas, using barriers like expressways and waterways as dividing lines (see below). For each area, we will be reviewing the existing bicycling conditions by identifying destinations, barriers, gaps in existing bikeways, and assets. An area map and nine section maps are displayed below. We'd love to receive input on these issues.
